Mathew has always enjoyed solving complex problems. As a result, he hopes to secure a faculty position in an institution that will foster his interdisciplinary research and provide opportunities for complex problem-solving. Mathew will graduate in the summer of 2004 and looks forward to mentoring and teaching students.

Currently, Mathew is researching biomass combustion by developing a computational model of biomass pyrolysis. The long range goal of his current research could potentially improve the quality of life for the 3 billion people that depend on biomass combustion for their primary energy needs.
