By day, Jim is a professional IT Project Manager with a proven track record of effective project management, business analysis, and application development, and has successfully led small, medium and large projects, with extensive experience managing administrative, financial, and human resources. During his career he has held progressively successful Information Technology positions in Project Management, as well as Director of Operations and that of College Instructor, System Engineer, Consultant, and Information Analyst. He has led software development teams for traditional and web based solutions, designed enterprise databases and applications, facilitated software evaluation and selection teams, and implemented secure and high-availability solutions.

Jim's home town is Dumont, IA, but he has lived in or around Ames and Des Moines since 1980. He is hoping to complete his dissertation by 2011 to graduate with a PhD in HCI. At this point he would like to focus his research on technologies applied to project management to reduce project costs, rework and improve corporate bottom line. His goals are to continue as a consultant, but to add project management research and teaching to his daily routine.
