Joseph is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He earned both his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Human Computer Interaction from Iowa State University. He is currently working on his Ph.D. in Human Computer Interaction and Computer Engineering with Eliot Winer and James Oliver. He works on using mixed reality environments to help train unmounted soldiers for the United States Army. Joseph also works with The Boeing Company to visualize and interact with complex data sets for optimizing aircraft designs. Other interests are medical visualization, parallel computing, and mobile applications. Joseph enjoys all types of sporting and outdoor activities, especially running.
