Akash received his Bachelors of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Nepal, and his Masters of Engineering in Information and Communications Technology from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. He came to work under Dr. Lie Tang as his research works align with his field of interest, i.e., machine vision and image processing. He is working with Dr. Tang on the inter-plant spacing sensing.

He has always been interested in understanding human behavior, especially when they interact with computers. HCI is a program where he believes he'll get an opportunity of understanding this behavior and at the same time, he'll get to know people with whom he can easily connect with in terms of research interests and future goals.
