Nick grew up in Westwood, Massachusetts, earned a BS in Human Factors Psychology at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is currently employed as a Systems Engineer specializing in Human Factors for Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, IA. Working in the Commercial Systems organization, he has the opportunity to work with engineers with software, electrical, mechanical, and systems backgrounds to develop the next generation of avionics for aircraft manufacturers such as Bombardier and Hawker-Beechcraft. He started his career with Rockwell Collins in the Government Systems organization, where he worked on Graphical User Interfaces, as well as the ergonomics of Line Replaceable Units and User Interface Devices for tanker, fighter, surveillance, and bomber aircraft.
At Rockwell Collins, Iowa State is regarded as one of the top engineering schools in the country. He chose to pursue the online HCI degree at Iowa State because of this reputation and how well the program aligns with my career goals. In the future Nick hopes to work with simulation and training systems for the aviation and automotive industries.
In his spare time, he enjoys biking, swimming, disc golf, photography, cooking, driving, and most of all, travelling.
