PI:  Adrian Sannier

Funding Agency: Various (see Notes)

Summary: It is the conjecture that immersive interfaces (e.g., head-mounted displays) are on the verge of becoming ubiquitous. As they power the next surge in the video game marketplace, immersive displays will usher in a new level of experiential realism, and perhaps cause a subsequent surge in violence. This study enables the research team to conduct a preliminary study aimed at linking increased immersion in video games to increased tendency toward aggression. This funding will enable the team to finish the technical infrastructure and conduct the preliminary study with human subjects.
