Multi-Modal Mesh Manipulation  (M4)
 
Although we have been referring to our earlier work internally as the geosculpt  project, I wanted to find a name for the project that better reflects the general nature of the project rather than its geoscience origins. It also needed to have a nice acronym! After some head scratching, we came up with a couple of possible name and I eventually decided on multi-modal mesh manipulation or M4 for short (very short). That leaves it open to us to be more application or domain specific, if needed (such as geo-M4). Although it shares its acronym with various pieces of military equipment, it does not appear to be protected by copyright (yet).  Here are some other contenders:  
 
  1. •Haptic/Audio Geo Surface Sculpting (HAGeSS)   (that would have made for a good logo)
  2. •Geological Exploratory Manipulation System (GEMS)
  3. •Aural Haptic Optic Geology (AHOG)
  4. •MAHGMA -> Multi-sense Aural Haptic Geology Manipulation Application
  5. •MAHaGeMA - Multimodal (Audio Haptic) Geoscience Manipulation Application
  6. •VAHGeMaT Visio-Audio-Haptic Geoscience Manipulation Toolkit
