Degrees and Programs

To meet the needs of our students, we have designed the HCI Graduate Program for flexibility, offering a range of opportunities to study in this field.

Our HCI Graduate Program promotes a flexible curriculum that encourages students to develop a program of study specific to their research interests. The HCI Graduate Program is also closely related to ongoing research. Many of our graduate students have research assistantships, working with faculty associated with the Virtual Reality Applications Center and from other departments across campus.

The online Graduate Certificate Program and the online Master of Human Computer Interaction Program allows students who are working in business and industry to take courses using distance education technologies. Students who are working full time are able to take courses to learn more about Human Computer Interaction, furthering their education without having to travel to the Iowa State University campus to study or committing to a full graduate program.
