In the heart of the VRAC lies a space that embodies the spirit of innovation and collaboration – the Jim Bernard (JB) Conference Room. Named in honor of the VRAC’s founding director, Jim Bernard, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering.  Jim was also instrumental in the creation of our Human Computer Interaction (HCI) graduate program. This room stands as a testament to his pioneering contributions to VRAC and the HCI program.

The JB Conference Room is a state-of-the-art facility designed to facilitate dynamic meetings, presentations, and collaborative sessions. It is equipped with cutting-edge technology and amenities that elevate the user experience to a new level.

High-Resolution Visuals: At the core of the JB Conference Room are two stunning 4K televisions that provide crisp and vibrant visuals. Whether you’re conducting a high-stakes presentation or engaging in a virtual conference, the visual quality ensures that every detail is vividly displayed.

Versatile Connectivity: The JB Conference Room is tailored to accommodate a variety of devices and platforms. Users can seamlessly connect via Apple TV, Solstice, or one of the four HDMI inputs available on the conference room table. This flexibility empowers presenters to effortlessly share their content, fostering a more engaging and interactive environment.

Effortless Control: Navigating the room’s technology is a breeze with the touch-panel control system. It provides intuitive control over the displays, audio, and connectivity options, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for all users.

Collaborative Space: The JB Conference Room has a Glassboard, which serves as a creative canvas for brainstorming, note-taking, and idea sharing. This high-contrast surface fosters collaboration and innovation, allowing ideas to flow freely.

Comfort and Hospitality: To ensure that every meeting is as comfortable and productive as possible, the JB Conference Room is equipped with hospitality amenities. It boasts a wet sink, a Keurig coffee machine for a quick caffeine fix, and even a coat closet to keep belongings organized.

Spacious Seating: The conference room table in JB can comfortably accommodate 12-14 individuals, making it ideal for intimate meetings. For larger gatherings, additional seating is available, ensuring that the room can adapt to various group sizes and functions.
